Monday Movie Miscellany - The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus

A tip of my hat to you, Terry Gilliam, as this movie is one of the best I've seen in a while. It's so rare these days to find a movie that is truly crafted with purpose and vision, and not just thrown together as cheap entertainment.

I've seen it a few times already, and I've enjoyed it every time I see it, which is always a good measure of the quality of a film. First off, the imagery is stunning. The visuals are absolutely superb, and the surreal, dreamlike scenes are right up my alley.

The story is great, and the casting is out of this world. I mean, Tom Waits as the devil!?! It doesn't get much better than that. All the other actors perform spectacularly as well. And that's it. Go see this movie if you get a chance.

Seriously, you know this movie's good if I can write a post this short and not spend any time on critical commentary.
