Protons Smaller than Expected

I know that probably elicits a 'so what?' and/or 'who cares?' from most, but this is pretty fascinating stuff. Even though the new measurement is only 4% smaller than the previously accepted one, that change throws off calculations in fields from physics to astronomy. Should this new number be correct, the standard quantum physics model might even need to be rewritten. Very excited to see what, if anything, comes of this.

Nature and National Geographic have the full story and details.
