Come Out and Play SF Accepting Submissions

You may or may not remember that our app Seek 'n Spell was part of a NYC festival called Come Out and Play way back in 2009.  Since then the festival has spawned a San Francisco offshoot, Come Out and Play SF, and they are now accepting games submissions for the 2012 event running November 17 to December 8.

This year the festival is partnering with SOMArts as part of their Curatorial Commons program, and there will be an exhibit in SOMArts' gallery in addition to the main weekend of field games.  So game designers feel free to submit anything from a board game to a street game, just make sure that it's lots of fun to play!  The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, July 31, 2012.

The Come Out and Play Festival in New York City will be happening July 13-14, so if you're out that way, set aside some time to check it out!

Reminder: To Do in SF - Come Out and Play Festival 11.5-6

Just wanted to send out a reminder that the Come Out and Play SF Festival is this weekend!  Head on over to the Mission for two full days of super fun (and free!) street games.  There will be some played at COaP headquarters at the Go Game, others at Everett Middle School.  Check out the schedule to see which ones are which, and pick the ones you want to attend.  If you play enough games, there are some very exciting prizes that await you...

Come Out and Play SF 10.29-11.6 Accepting Submissions

Come Out and Play is an awesome annual street games festival that started in NYC in 2006.  Seek 'n Spell was part of the festivities in 2009, and the event was a total blast!  Last year there was an SF offshoot, and it's back again with the main weekend of games happening November 4-6.  Submissions for games are now being accepted, so if you've got a game you'd like to run during the event please submit!  Just make sure you get it in by September 15.  If you're not a game designer but still want to be involved, they're also looking for volunteers to help out.  Otherwise, be sure to mark your calendar!

Come Out and Play Festival Comes to San Francisco October 22-24!

We've posted before about the Come Out and Play Festival that happens every June in New York City, as Seek 'n Spell was part of the lineup back in '09, and this October it's coming to San Francisco!

COaP is an amazingly fun outdoor/street games festival, and while there aren't as many games going on as there are in the NYC incarnation, the couple games I have played I just love to death, and the others look like a total blast too.

So set some time aside that weekend to come over to the Panhandle and Golden Gate Park (working schedule is here) and enjoy some of the most fun and innovative games that you'll run across for a while, maybe ever. Extra special bonus: all this fun is available for free!
