SXSW Round-up

Was South by Southwest really only just two weeks ago? Seems like it's been longer than that, but I guess that's because we've been busy following up on all the different products and partnerships we announced there! In case you weren't following along on our SXSW page during the show itself, we've put together a quick summary of all the announcements here:

  • We partnered with Miselu to develop a full suite of touch-based music creation & performance apps for their revolutionary "neiro" instrument.
  • We're developing an open-source devkit called CloudSeeder that will let app developers add SoundCloud-powered communities to their music and audio apps.
  • New features for Tabletop including auto-routing, gesture support for moving between devices and Retina display support for the new iPad
  • All buyers of Akai Pro's forthcoming MPC App for iPad will get a Tabletop device version of the MPC included with purchase of the standalone app
  • Realtime vocal processing tools from iZotope in future versions of Tabletop
For all the latest info about availability and other details on these and other Retronyms projects, keep an eye on the blog, or stay informed via Facebook, Twitter & our email newsletter.

SXSW Announcement: MPC in Tabletop!

We're really excited about this one! As you may know, we're working with Akai Pro on the official MPC App for iPad. And now we can announce that the MPC will be available as a device inside Tabletop!

The MPC on iPad is going to be a blast with classic MPC beat making features, sweet effects, and a killer sampling workflow, and now you'll be able to work this legendary device into your Tabletop sessions!

Possibly the best part is how it works: owners of the stand alone MPC app will automatically unlock the MPC device in Tabletop for free — no need to purchase it twice!
